The longer I practice aikido the less I feel I know anything about it.
My aikido journey began in a style which I would describe as „collecting techniques“. The more knowledge you aquire, the better you will get, right? My engineer’s mind liked that way of thinking. Until I found out that the illusion of knowing is limiting my progress and keeping me from discovering the true essence of aiki.
Nowadays, ignoring the ongoing complaints of my mind, I am practicing not-knowing. Not-knowing facilitates not-doing which in my experience is essential for the manifestion of aiki. Misogi, the purification of the body (dissolving rigidities and removing slack) and the mind (being present instead of making plans), has become the core aspect of my training.

I feel truly gifted having the opportunity to further explore this soft and yet powerful aikido within the Kimusubi Dojos tribe. This is a treasure worth protecting.
